What age student can participate at Playhouse Jr.
Current programs are available to artists ages five to adults!

Do students need prior experience to participate in a class or workshop at Playhouse Jr.?
Unless otherwise specified in a class description, no prior experience is required to learn with Playhouse Jr.. All we ask is that artists bring their imaginations and enthusiasm. Faculty at Playhouse Jr. approach learning with a sense of joy and adventure and will work with each student to build confidence and motivate them in their personal artistic journey.

Who teaches Playhouse Jr. classes and camps?
Playhouse Jr. has assembled a fun and experienced faculty of professional educators and artists. While each teaching artist brings their own flare and unique perspective to the classroom, all faculty are committed to creating a safe and fun learning environment.

Can I pay for tuition in installments?
No. Classes must be paid in full before classes begin.

Are discounts available for multiple students or multiple classes or camps?
Students and families that register for more than one class or camp are offered a $15-$25 discount for each additional class or camp within most semesters. This offer applies to multiple programs for one student or family discounts for siblings.

Are scholarships available?
Yes! Scholarships are available for all tuition-based classes and camps. The Dave Hart Scholarship Fund was created in memory of Playhouse Jr.'s friend, artist, and educator, Dave Hart. The application form includes basic student, guardian, and household information as well as a short written statement outlining the purpose and significance of a scholarship.

If I apply for a scholarship should I also register for the class?
No. Scholarship spots are saved for recipients in each tuition-based program. Please do not also enroll online for the class.

You can go ahead and register with our online registration software. This will help speed up the process when we enroll your student. Just simply bypass the payment portion of the registration form and DO NOT enroll in the class. We will do that for you!

As a parent or guardian, am I allowed to sit in on my child's class?
Our classes are closed to parents and visitors to create a safe and focused environment. If your child needs additional support in a program, accommodations can be made with the education staff on a case-by-case basis.

My child is very advanced for their age. Can they take class with an older group?
Students are intentionally divided into age-appropriate classes based on emotional and cognitive development. Additionally, we choose class content that is exciting and relevant to each age group. For these reasons, we stick to the age and grade parameters set for each program.
