This year we have introduced an exciting new campaign, "The 50/60 Campaign." 2011 marks our 50th Anniversary as The State Theatre of North Carolina, designated by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1961. 2012 marks our 60th Anniversary as Flat Rock Playhouse.

A 50th Anniversary in one year, followed by a 60th Anniversary the following year- with both of these milestone anniversaries occurring back-to-back, there is reason to celebrate.

As a contributor to "The 50/60 Campaign", you'll help us maintain and upgrade our facilities, some of which are more than 30 years old and are in great need of repair or replacement. You'll also be able to gauge our progress in this effort and you can join the celebration - a celebration lasting for two years!

What follows in this brochure are exciting, behind-the-scenes opportunities that only "The 50/60 Campaign Club" members (and prospective members) will be invited to attend. You are among a select group of chosen invitees based on your previous generous support to Flat Rock Playhouse.

We certainly hope you'll consider joining your friends and community members by becoming a part of this elite team. As a donor at this level, you take on the responsibility of supporting and sustaining our future.

A gift to "The 50/60 Campaign" is simple and looks like this: Your two-year pledge is in celebration of our two milestone anniversaries. Your total contribution is $1,250 or $1,800 per year over the course of two years, totaling $2,500 for The 50s Club or $3,600 for The 60s Club.

"The 50/60 Campaign" is designed to allow us to go above and beyond what it takes to produce a regularly scheduled season, and bring you the level of excellence you've come to enjoy from Flat Rock Playhouse for many years to come.

Our goal is to raise over $600,000 in honor of our 60th Anniversary. To lead this effort, our Board of Trustees has generously stepped up to pledge $180,000 and our bucket campaign (at nearly 450 performances, on every stage) this year is already on target to raise $100,000.

The remainder of this campaign is dependent on our generous and dedicated donors. Please consider joining "The 50/60 Club" today and be among the other donors at Flat Rock Playhouse that truly understand what it takes to support your State Theatre of North Carolina. As your State Theatre, did you know that less than 2% of our funding actually comes from the state? Dispelling misconceptions like these, and reminding people that we are a non-profit organization, built to serve our community, are imperative to our sustained success.

With your support, we can continue to educate and entertain our community, providing over $10,000,000 in economic impact each year to Western North Carolina.
