Why Should I Support Flat Rock Playhouse?Flat Rock Playhouse is very different from most theatres.   While, like most theatre companies, we are a not-for-profit, the way that we do business is where we differ from the majority of others.   To borrow an old phrase, Flat Rock Playhouse does it the old fashioned way... we earn it.   The Playhouse exists 80% from box office revenues; the national average is significantly lower. While state support covers 2% of operation, donors like you cover 6.5%.   The very fact that the Playhouse's budget reflects a smaller percentage from its donor base than most not-for-profit professional theatres means your support is all the more important!   Plus, with such a small percentage coming from its donor base, when you support Flat Rock Playhouse you know that you are standing behind an organization that will always be the best possible stewards of your generosity. We need you VERY much.

Endowment Fund

By giving to Flat Rock Playhouse's Endowment Fund, you can provide for Flat Rock Playhouse forever.

How It WorksManaged by the Community Foundation of Henderson County, the Playhouse's Endowment works much like an investment fund.   In fact, that's exactly what it is.   The fund managers at the Community Foundation of Henderson County carefully invest the Foundation's monies to be sure the highest possible return is gained by the recipient organization. The principal fund balance remains untouched while a portion of the earnings are returned to the Playhouse for immediate use (the rest being reinvested).   The bigger the fund gets, the greater its advantage to the Playhouse.
