BILLY, GOAT, GRUFF--The Musical
April 11 through April 19, 2008
Executive Producer: Tom & BJ Ramer and their family

Billy, Goat, Gruff -- The Musical, written by Gwen Edwards (book and lyrics) and Flat Rock Playhouse YouTheatre alumnus, Ben Mackel (music), tells the Norwegian folktale, “The Three Billy Goats Gruff”-- with a few new twists and turns-- through a combination of dramatic action, music, and dance. This spring at Flat Rock Playhouse, join Billy, Goat, and Gruff as they seek food and a home and encounter many unexpected things along the way: haunting and beautiful music, a creaky bridge, a frightening ravine, a frog who is not as innocent as she looks, an evil troll, and possibly even a way of re-connecting with their dead mother, Melody, while making some unlikely friends along the way.

THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW
A musical adaptaion of Washington Irvimg's classic ghost story written by FRP's own Damian D. Domingue.

The story focuses on Ichabod Crane, a school teacher with a fantastical imagination.  The play is musically narrated by the town's Dutch Wives as Ichabod finds himself in a romantic triangle with Katrina van Tassel, the most marriage-able girl in town, and Brom Bones, a rich but over-bearing young man.  Brom's valet, Fauntelaire, tries to warn Ichabod that Brom has no patience or sympathy for competition and Brom's gang of followers is always willing to do his bidding.  Baultus, Katrina's father, throws a Harvest Ball and the whole town attends only to see Ichabod publicly humiliate Brom.  That night, so they say, the infamous Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow makes an appearance and Ichabod is never seen again.
