Actors

Flat Rock Playhouse operates under an Actors’ Equity Association C.O.R.S.T. - Y contract. Annual auditions are held in New York, the South Eastern Theatre Conference, and the Western Carolina Theatre League Unified auditions.

Designers and Technicians

Design and technical positions are advertised through ArtSearch, Internet based sites, this web site and at the South Eastern Theatre Conference and some area Universities and Colleges. Seasonal, year round, and intern positions are posted as openings occur in the scenic, lighting, sound, costume and properties departments. Contracts range from single show job-in to partial or full season.

Apprentices

The Summer and Fall Apprentice Company are comprised of college and graduate students and those entering the first few years of a professional career.  Annual auditions are at the South Eastern Theatre Conference, regional Universities and Colleges, by appointment at Flat Rock Playhouse, and by video or DVD for those who cannot travel to the area.

Box Office, House & Grounds, Food Services

Seasonal positions are available for individuals who live locally or provide their own housing. Most positions pay an hourly wage determined by experience and work ethic.

Box Office positions require a proficiency in computer, verbal, and mathematic skills.
House & Grounds positions require physical labor and the use of lawn and power tools.
Food Service positions require a basic knowledge of kitchen tools.

All positions provide on-the-job-training and applicants must have a good attitude.
